Professor Md Shafiqul Bari, Ph. D
Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Bari is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of Agroforestry and Environment. Formerly a Professor at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, he is the founding Head and past Chairman of the Department of Agroforestry and Environment at HSTU. Dr. Bari holds a Ph.D. in Agroforestry from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), with postdoctoral research conducted in Greece, the UK, and Japan.
His academic journey includes degrees from Saints Pauls High School, Rajshahi College, and BAU, alongside advanced training and certifications from universities in Sweden, the Netherlands, China, and Australia. A prolific researcher, Dr. Bari has published over 50 journal articles, authored books, and supervised more than 90 postgraduate students.
Dr. Bari has led numerous international and national research projects and served as Project Director and Program Leader for initiatives funded by SANDEE, ICIMOD, and the European Union's Erasmus+ program. He has also held various administrative roles including Director of Career Development Services and Provost of Begum Rokeya Hall at HSTU.
An advocate of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL), he has contributed to curriculum development across institutions in Asia and Europe.
