Professor of Physics and academic leader with more than 22 years of teaching experience and over a decade of active research. His primary expertise is in materials physics, particularly functional magnetic materials, ferrites, perovskite oxides, metallic glasses, and their structure-property relationships. His research extends into magnetic hyperthermia, magnetoelectric sensing, dielectric heating, high-frequency materials, and the effects of plastic debris on arable-soil permeability. A former Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at MIST, he currently serves as Registrar of EXIM Bank Agricultural University Bangladesh, with established experience in curriculum design, research coordination, faculty development, institutional planning, and interdisciplinary academic leadership.

  • Functional magnetic materials and nanotechnology - Manganese-doped cobalt ferrites, perovskite oxides, metallic glasses, and composition-dependent structural, electrical, magnetic, and elastic properties.
  • Biomedical applications of functional materials - Magnetic hyperthermia, magnetoelectric sensing, dielectric heating, and material-response studies with potential medical-physics applications.
  • Environmental materials and soil systems - Plastic debris, micro- and nanoplastic interactions, soil permeability, and emerging interdisciplinary questions relevant to arable-land health.
  • High-frequency, sensing, and energy-relevant materials - Negative permeability/permittivity behavior, magnetocaloric effects, impedance response, and materials for sensors, thermoelectric, and high-frequency applications.

Research Methods and Capabilities

  • Solid-state synthesis, planetary ball milling, pelletization, heat treatment, and sintering of ferrite, perovskite, and metallic-glass systems.
  • X-ray diffraction and microstructural interpretation; FESEM-informed morphology; dielectric, impedance, electric-modulus, conductivity, permeability, magnetization, and magnetocaloric analyses.
  • Interdisciplinary project development, research-team coordination, scientific writing, publication review, and translation of material properties into application hypotheses.

Potential Research Contribution

  • Develop a focused materials-physics research cluster connecting functional ferrites and perovskites with sensing, dielectric heating, energy, and environmental applications.
  • Mentor student researchers in experimental design, material characterization, data interpretation, scientific writing, and publication planning.
